Q: What are our service charges?

A: We charge nothing for quotation if the fault is visible and can be varified without opening and unassembling the laptop. In case we have to open the laptop we charge $75 for service charge which will be adjusted against any repairs carry out on the laptop.

Note for users: When we open a laptop, if we find that problem can be fixed and the cost is upto $165, we will fix that and in case it is more that that we will then call the client and let them know what the actual cost will be. The reason is, opening a laptop takes almost 2 hours to fully open, diagnose and re-assemble it properly

Q: What are dry solder joints?

A: Dry solder is the wear and tear of the laptop connectors inside. Over the period of time they move and need repair. We will open the laptop and fix those loose connector. Usually cost between $240 and $360

Q: is backlight worth fixing or better to replace the LCD or LED

A: Backlight cost roughly anything between $20 and $50 but issue is time it takes to open up all the layers of LCD (usually anything between 3 and 5) and assembling them so carefully and in dustproof environment. After getting the backlight and putting it in, it will cost you roughly $300 including time and labour.

LED do not use backlights so it is just economical and quick solution to replace the broken or faulty display with new LED panel as the prices have come down a lot on LED screens.

Checking today pricing of LCD panel starting from $230 to $270 fitted and installed, we think it is worth considering getting it replaced.

Q: My DC Jack is moving and i have to move my ac adapter to charge, what is the solution?
